How to Register
- Returning teams (already on Areena). The League will “roll over” your team from the prior season once registration opens. Once done, players should have the ability to register/pay.
- Individual players:
- Returning players (already on the Areena app). Only payment is needed (via the app or Venmo).
- Other Players (new or not on the app). To register, a player must be on the Areena app and have submitted payment (via the app or Venmo).
- Note: Players will be marked as paid on the app within roughly 1-2 business days of receiving payment.
- New teams (not yet on Areena):
- Please register your team, but be sure to select “pay offline” and complete the registration (you’ll get a confirmation when submitted).
- Once submitted, the League will contact you within 48 hours with instructions on how to create a team on the Areena app, and how to invite your players to join your team’s page.
- Free Agents (individual players not connected with a team):
- Please register as a FA (see also Registration Policy – Free Agents), but be sure to select “pay offline” and complete the registration (you’ll get a confirmation when submitted).
- Once the above form has been submitted, please submit payment via Venmo (see below) to secure your spot in the Free Agent queue.
Payments (confirm with your team’s Captain how much is owed!)
Payments via Areena:
- The transaction fee via Areena payment cannot be avoided.
- The “early” registration rate will be reflected at the Areena payment screen.
- Players paying offline should NOT pay via Areena. (There’s no ‘skip’ button in Areena; once a player in on the Areena app, nothing more should be needed).
- Female players paying via the Areena app must use the discount code “26Female” to get the discount.
- Discounts will not be applied retroactively.
Payments via Venmo (avoid Areena transaction fee):
- Payments should be submitted to @charmcitysoccer; however, payments must not be made for ‘goods/services’ or have a fee charged to the League.
- Players should subtract any applicable discount (including the $10 discount for female players) from their payment.
- Players who are unable to pay via Venmo are encouraged to pay through their team’s Captain.
- Discounts will not be applied retroactively.

Cost Information and other updates.
Update [Summer ’26]: Currently, the BCRP field fee increase remains suspended, but for how long remains to be seen. Given that, lowering prices only to raise them in the near future is imprudent. Therefore, the difference will be accounted for as follows:
- Captains can play for $50 off. As long as BCRP doesn’t increase its rates, this promotional offer can remain in effect as a token of appreciation for their work as Captains. Captains are welcome to split this savings with their A.C., apply it toward referee fees, use it toward a team outing, or however else they see fit.
- Additionally, this may incentivize additional teams to join, which would benefit all teams through increased competition.
- One-week referee fee “holiday”. Similar to the Spring season, the League will cover each team’s referee fees for one game (likely the team’s 1st game).
Update #2 [Spring ’26]:Perhaps as a result of complaints from the League and others, BCRP temporarily suspended the permitting fee increases implemented in early 2026.
To pass along some savings back to the players for Spring (rather than refund $5 to each player via the Captains), the League agreed to provide the following (after consultation with the League’s Advisory Board and team Captains):
- A match-quality game ball (e.g., Select Numero 10 Turf Match V25) for each team before the end of the Spring season to ensure each team has a suitable game ball (not required to be used).
- A one-week referee fee “holiday” where the League covered each team’s referee fees.
Update [Spring ’26]: The League is acutely aware of the increase in the cost of everything, and unfortunately social sports are no exception. The following is in regard to upcoming fee changes for 2026 that are out of the League’s control:
- Field costs. Baltimore City increased their rental fee for Utz Field by a staggering 105%, increasing from $100/hour to up to $205/hour (with lights; without lights is still up to $175/hour). While an increase was expected, such a significant increase is unfair, egregious, and patently unreasonable.
- Referee fees. These fees may increase to $55 per ref per game (up from $50). The referees pushed to increase this amount in Fall ’25, but the League pushed back hard on an increase at the time. Further pushback may not be possible.
While filed costs have doubled, the League fee will not, nor will it be anything close. However, because the City significantly increased costs—an increase we seem unable** to contest—some of that cost will have to be passed on to everyone playing in the League to maintain its operation. The League is looking to absorb and manage this as best as possible and currently working to determine the increase amount, will be as modest as possible in light of the circumstances (ideally, no more than 25%).
**The League has emailed District Council President Zeke Cohen as well as Mayor Brandon Scott’s office. Feel free to reach out to either or both to make your voice heard about such a tremendous increase in cost:
